In this lawyer disciplinary proceeding, the Hearing Panel Subcommittee found that Belinda S. Morton (hereinafter referred to as “Ms. Morton”) violated Rule 1.5(a)(1) of the Rules of Professional Conduct by obtaining a fee of $1,500.00 from medical payments made to her client, David E. Willis, by his own insurance earner. The Hearing Panel recommended that Ms. Morton be publicly reprimanded, ordered to repay the client $1,500.00, and ordered to pay the costs of this proceeding.
