Plaintiff, the United States of America, appeals from the district court’s recommendation to this court that defendant, Amite County School District, be permitted to maintain a sex-segregated student assignment plan among the four schools which comprise the district. The recommendation of the district court was based on its findings that Amite County’s assignment plan resulted from sound educational purposes as opposed to racially discriminatory objectives.
