OPINION AND ORDER

After a long and somewhat tortured history of judicial consideration, this habeas corpus proceeding has culminated in an evidentiary hearing on the issue of petitioner Suggs’ competence at the time he entered guilty pleas to one count each of rape and robbery in state court.
