John Mitchell, Jr., was convicted of violating section 4457 of the Code, relating to making entries on bank books, and was sentenced to the penitentiary for three years.

The original indictment contained eighteen counts, but when the case was called for trial the prosecuting attorney entered a nolle prosequi to the last fifteen counts, leaving the first three counts; the first of which charged the larceny of $19,000.00, the property of the Mechanics Savings Bank; the second the larceny of $19,000.00, the property of the Knights of Pythias; and the third a false and fraudulent entry in the…
