The plaintiff, a banking corporation in the city of 'Memphis, on the 20th of February, 1862, was the Folder of several promissory notes maturing after that date, upon which the defendants, a firm of merchants in said city, were endorsers. The plaintiff brought its several actions in ‘ the Circuit Court of Shelby county and had judgments upon said endorsements against the defendants, who appeal in error.
