This proceeding was instituted in the District Court by a petition signed by V. C. Giles and a number of other citizens of Travis county, asking the removal of appellant, Bingham Trigg, from the office of county attorney, to which he had been elected at the general election in February, 1876, and which he then—to wit, on the 18th of April, 1877,—-was holding; and setting forth as grounds for his removal, among other things not pertinent to the matter, two grounds, which were, that since his said election he had been guilty of habitual drunkenness and offi'eial…
