The appellee brought this suit to recover of appellant two thousand dollars, alleged to be due her on a benefit certificate in her favor upon the life of her deceased husband, Walter D. Owens. The appellant is a fraternal insurance association, chartered under the laws of Illinois, and legally doing business in Texas, and was such on the 25th day of September, 1907.
