Donald Broadnax appeals the circuit court's denial of his Rule 32, Ala.R.Crim. P., petition for postconviction relief, in which he attacked his capital-murder convictions and his sentence of death.

In 1997, Broadnax was convicted of four counts of capital murder in connection with the murders of his wife, Hector Jan Stamps Broadnax, and her four-year-old grandson, DeAngelo Stamps. The murders were made capital (1) because two or more persons were murdered pursuant to one scheme or course of conduct, see § 13A-5-40(a)(10), Ala.
