On April 11, 1927, the Midwest Athletic Club borrowed $75,000 from the Madison & Kedzie State Bank due in ninety days. On the same day, Mark Shanks and twenty-four others signed and delivered to the bank their contract of guaranty as collateral to the indebtedness owed by the club.
