This is an action for divorce on the ground of adultery. It was commenced 24th February, 1885, by service of summons on *25defendant personally. The complaint which was verified on 17th April, 1885, charged that the defendant, who was a music teacher in the State institution for the blind, at Batavia, committed adultery with Ann? Gr. Steele, a pupil and inmate of the institution, on numerous occasions during the period of three years, next preceding the 1st of April, 1885.
