—Appeal by the defendant from a judgment of the Supreme Court, Kings County (Jackson, J.), rendered May 17, 1989, convicting him of assault in the second degree, upon a jury verdict, and imposing sentence.

Ordered that the judgment is affirmed.

The defendant contends that the People failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he caused "physical injury” to the complainant as defined in Penal Law § 10.09 (9) and, therefore, his conviction for assault in the second degree must be reversed.
