This matter is before the court on the emergency application of petitioners for a preliminary injunction that would, in essence, compel the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the City of New York (LPC) to calendar and hold hearings on a last-minute application for landmark status for a group of buildings known as the Jones Woods Houses, located on East 65th and East 66th Streets between Lexington and Third Avenue, together with a row of 10 tenement buildings located on Third Avenue to the east of Jones Woods.
