Following a bench trial in the circuit court of Cook County, the defendant, Willie Marshall, was convicted of one count of felony driving on a revoked license (625 ILCS 5/6 — 303(a) (West 2006)) and sentenced to two years of imprisonment. On appeal, the defendant argues that: (1) defense counsel was ineffective for failing to file a motion to suppress evidence; and (2) a line of questioning posed by the trial court to the State’s sole witness was improperly biased against the defendant.
