By an act of the General Assembly, approved March 30th, 1872, the members of the State Senate and the Lieutenant Governor were constituted a State Board for the equalization of the valuation of real and personal property among the several counties in the State, and their compensation fixed at the same sum per diem as was allowed members of the General Assembly, which was five dollars per day.
