l,In this medical malpractice case, the defendants, Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital (Christus Hospital), Stephen T. Ford, LPN (Nurse Ford), and the Louisiana Patient’s Compensation Fund/Louisiana Patient’s Compensation Fund Oversight Board (hereafter collectively referred *569to as the PCF), appeal a jury verdict in favor of the plaintiffs, the widow and two children of Robert W.
