In this dispute over employee benefits, respondent State Employees’ Retirement System appeals by delayed leave granted the trial court’s opinion and order reversing its decision to deny petitioner, Maureen Polania’s request for nonduty disability retirement benefits. On appeal, we conclude that the State Employees’ Retirement System Board (Board) properly interpreted and applied the applicable law.
