¶ 1. James Richard Coleman appeals a judgment of conviction, following a jury trial, of two counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child under the age of sixteen, contrary to Wis. Stat. § 948.02(2) (2013-14).1 Coleman also appeals the order denying his postconviction motion. Because we agree that Coleman's defense counsel performed deficiently, and that the deficiencies prejudiced Coleman, we reverse and remand for a new trial.2
