MEMORANDUM OPINION

STEPHEN S. MITCHELL, Bankruptcy Judge.

This matter is before the court on the motion of The Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States (“Equitable”) to require the debtor’s former counsel, Arnold & Porter, to disgorge a prepetition retainer on the ground that it represents cash collateral subject to Equitable’s lien. The debtor, 1550 Wilson Boulevard, L.P., filed memoranda in opposition to Equitable’s motion. A hearing was held on May 21, 1996, after which the court took the matter under advisement.
