This suit is brought to recover tbe amount of three promissory notes, given by the firm of Groth & Peters to the plaintiff, as follows: The first note, elated August -15, 1884, for the sum of $2,000, payable in ninety days; the second note, dated October 20, 1884, for the sum of $2,000, payable in ten days; and the third note, dated October 20, 1884, for the sum of $3,500, payable in ninety days, and the balance of a bank-account of $178.80, standing on the books of the bank against said firm.
