This is a civil case involving securities fraud, racketeering, and pendent state law claims. The plaintiffs, a class of investors who own bonds issued by the Westside Rehabilitation Center (“Westside”), allege that Joe Fryar, Westside’s developer, and Wright, Lindsey & Jennings (“WLJ”), a Little Rock, Arkansas, law firm representing the bond issue’s underwriters, fraudulently caused Westside to default on its bond interest payments, ultimately causing the bondholders to lose millions of dollars.
