The Butte and Market Lake Canal Company (hereinafter called the Company) irrigates approximately 20,000 acres of land in the vicinity of Roberts, in Jefferson County. Its decreed right was both late and insufficient. Notwithstanding the fact it yearly rented 15,-000 acre feet in addition to its decreed rights, it was, and still is, in great need of additional water.
