The municipal civil service commission has announced a competitive examination for the position of clerk, grade 2. The call for applications issued by that body provides that applicants must be high school graduates between the ages of eighteen and through twenty-five years. It will be observed from the announcement that certain employees of the emergency relief bureau who possess the preliminary requirements as to age and education will be eligible for appointment in any city department, while those employees of the department of public welfare or emergency relief bureau who pass the…
