This was an application for a mandamus to compel the Board of Supervisors of Milwaukee County to comply with the requirements of chapter 372 of the Local Laws of 1869, in respect to furnishing the commissioners, whose appointment is provided for in that act, an office and other means- for discharging their duties. The object of the application is to test the validity of the act, which is questioned upon several grounds.
