*911 Defendant Jeffrey Scott Young was convicted of the first degree murders of Teresa Perez and Jack Reynolds ( Pen. Code, § 187, subd. (a) ), the attempted murder of Daniel Maman ( id. , §§ 187, subd. (a), 664 ), *200 and the carjacking of Jim Gagarin ( id. , § 215, subd. (a)).
