Lula Viola Floyd, the ap-pellee, brought this suit against the Modern Woodmen of America, a' fraternal benefit society, to recover on a certificate issued by the said society, on the life of her husband. The society answered, alleging facts which, if true, constituted a good defense. to the cause of action. The trial was had in the absence of defendant’s attorney, the defendant being without representation in any way at the 'trial, and judgment rendered for the plaintiff.
