This is an appeal by John H. Hoeppel, a Representative in Congress from the Twelfth District of California, and his son, Charles J. Hoeppel, from a conviction in the Supreme Court of the District of Columbia of conspiracy to violate section 150 of title 18, United States Code, 18 U.S.C.A. § 150 (44 Stat. 918, § 2).

The indictment alleges, in substance, that on May 23, 1934, and continuously thereafter to and including June 6, 1934, Charles J. Hoeppel, alias Charles Alexander,- and John H. Hoeppel conspired together that Charles J. Hoeppel should solicit for…
