The Southern Railway Company in Mississippi was chartered since the constitution of 1890 took effect. Its railroad runs east and west entirely across this state. One of its stations is Greenwood, and another lis Itta Bena, a point seven or eight miles west of Greenwood. It owns a branch railway, running at right angles with its main line from Itta Bena, nearly due north, to Webb, at which point the branch terminates; and it owns the rights, franchises, rights of way, turnouts, branches, main and side tracks, and improvements pertaining to it.
