On May 5, 1904, Frank M. Higgins and Cora, his wife, executed and delivered to P. H. McCormick a mortgage on an undivided one-eleventh of certain pieces of real estate in LaSalle county, Illinois, to secure the payment of a note for the principal sum of $1,622.33, and the same was duly recorded. Thereafter on July 29, 1905, McCormick filed against Higgins' and his wife, Cora, a bill in the Circuit Court of LaSalle county for a strict foreclosure of said mortgage, it being charged that Higgins was in default in the payment of interest and that the mortgaged property had thereby become…
