RULING ON PETITIONER MEGA-TREND TELECOMMUNICATIONS, INC.’S MOTION TO REOPEN JUDGMENT

Petitioner Megatrend Telecommunications, Inc., (“Megatrend”) has initiated these proceedings in the District of Connecticut seeking to have set aside a default judgment entered against it by the District Court of the Virgin Islands 1 and registered in this Court for execution. Megatrend contends that the judgment is void because the District Court of the Virgin Islands lacked personal jurisdiction over it in the underlying contract action in which Mega-trend declined to appear.…
