HUNTER, Judge.

North Carolina Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company (“plaintiff’) appeals from an order dismissing its declaratory judgment action for lack of jurisdiction. For the reasons stated herein,, we reverse the trial court.

This action arises from an automobile accident that occurred in Spartanburg, South Carolina on 23 February 1997. A pickup truck, owned by North Carolina resident Lewis Kelly Holt (“Holt”) and operated by South Carolina resident Julie S. F.
