Isaias Paredes-Batista (“Batista”),** also known as Carmelo Quiñones, appeals from his conviction and sentence, following a bench trial in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York (Robert J. Ward, Judge), for one count of illegally reentering the United States after having been arrested and deported, in violation of 8 U.S.C. § 1326.1 He challenges that conviction on three grounds.
