Parks, J.:

This is a divorce action filed by the plaintiff Donna Guye. The defendant Richard Guye, a resident of Illinois, contested the jurisdiction of the court to decide child custody and property matters but was overruled by the court. The defendant appeals.

Plaintiff and defendant met in Ottawa, Kansas, and were married in Oklahoma on July 2,1975. They returned to Ottawa where they lived for about 13 months.
