This is an action instituted by the plaintiff (appellee), Tom Cooper, against three defendants, the Chicago Mill & Dumber Company, the Cairo, Memphis & Southern Railway & Transportation Company, and Jack O’Bryan, to recover damages alleged to have been sustained by him on account of their alleged negligence. The Transportation Company and the Dumber Company are both Illinois corporations.
