The petitioner became a member of the police department of the city of New York on March 26, 1924. He retired on November 10, 1946, upon his own application, and was granted by the trustees of the police pension fund of the city of New York an annual pension of $2,175, payable in monthly installments of $181.25. On the date of his retirement, he entered the employ of the United States Government, as a civilian adviser to the War Department, at a salary of $5,905.50 per annum.
