On December 12, 1969 the appellant, Virginia C. Carney, filed suit against the appellee, Eugene D. Carney, in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County seeking a divorce a mensa on the grounds of cruelty and constructive desertion. On October 22, 1971 the wife filed a supplemental bill requesting a divorce a vinculo, alimony, child custody and support on the alternative grounds of constructive desertion or voluntary separation.
