CHIN, J.

Petitioner James Robert Scott seeks relief on habeas corpus from the judgment of death entered against him in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Case No. A747321. We affirmed that judgment on direct appeal. (People v. Scott (1997) 15 Cal.4th 1188 [65 Cal.Rptr.2d 240, 939 P.2d 354] (Scott).)
