Victor Hardeman moved to dismiss the indictment against him, asserting that his constitutional right to a speedy trial had been violated. His motion was denied, and he appeals. We agree with Hardeman that his motion should have been granted, and we reverse.

The record shows that on December 20, 2001, Fulton County police officers discovered a large amount of suspected cocaine in a house located in a wooded area that one witness referred to as a “ranch.” Numerous individuals ran from the area when the police arrived, and one officer shot a dog that attacked him.
