This is an action of the case in assumpsit on an insurance policy for $1,500, bearing date July 25, 1907, covering certain buildings and their contents and issued to one Shmay Kotler, as owner. The policy is of the Rhode Island standard form. A clause attached and forming a part of the policy is in part as follows: “Loss or damage, if any, under this policy, shall be payable to Hugo Riddell as the mortgagee (or trustee) as interest may appear, and this insurance, as to the interest of the mortgagee (or trustee) only therein, shall not be invalidated by any act or neglect of the mortgagor or…
