Kayle Barrington Bates appeals an order of the postconviction court denying his motion, made under Florida Rule of Criminal Procedure 3.575, to interview a juror who served at his trial in 1983. Bates claims to have learned at some unspecified time (but years after his conviction) that the juror is the second cousin of a person who was married to the victim’s sister.
