This case was before us at a former term, and is reported as People ex rel. v. Ghicago and Alton Railroad Co. 130 Ill. 175. The case was then submitted to us on a demurrer to the petition for a writ of mandamus. The substance of the prayer of the petition was, that a writ of mandamus should be issued commanding the railroad company to establish a passenger and freight depot in the town of Upper Alton, upon its line of railway between the station of Godfrey and the station of Wann, and to stop its trains, both freight and passenger, or a sufficient number thereof to accommodate the public, and…
