This is an appeal by an answering creditor from a decree of the District Court for the District of Massachusetts adjudging the Matthews Consolidated Slate Company bankrupt. The principal questions raised are: (1) Whether the principal place of business of the Matthews Consolidated Slate Company was in the District of Massachusetts; and (2) whether the said company was engaged principally “in manufacturing,' trading, * * * mining, or mercantile pursuits,” within the meaning of section 4b of the bankruptcy act as amended by Act Feb. 5, 1903, c. 487, § 3, 32 Stat. 797 [U.…
