The plaintiffs, Bludworth & Bullard, alleging themselves to be creditors of Hunter, for ill,666 66, with interest, on a promissory note, secured by a conventional mort*257gage and vendor’s privilege, in the month of May, 1842, took out an order of seizure and sale, for the purpose of having a plantation and slaves in the possession of Hunter, situated in the parish of Natchitoches, and cultivated as a cotton plantation, seized and sold.
