Following the sale of their family-owned business, the cross-appellants Patricia H. Johnson et al. (the “Johnson Family”) sued appellants T. Wayne Davis and Philip A. Belyew for common law fraud, securities fraud, and breach of fiduciary duty, and sought actual damages, punitive damages, and attorney fees and expenses. After a two-week trial, the jury found in favor of appellants on all issues of liability but awarded the Johnson Family attorney fees and expenses. The trial court thereafter entered judgment on the verdict.
