This is a petition for certiorari to review the decision of the zoning board of review of the town of Smith-field in denying the petitioners’ application for an exception or a variance under the zoning ordinance of that town. Pursuant to the writ the pertinent records have been certified to this court.
It appears therefrom that four brothers, Conrado, Philip, Raymond and Angelo Franco, are the owners of a six-acre tract of land abutting the southerly side of Putnam Pike in *212the town of Smtihfield. The property in question is located in' a district zoned “Residence No. 1.” It further appears…
