GARRARD, Judge.

I. Facts and Procedural History

This is an appeal from an order granting a petition for adoption. We reverse.

The child was born in South Bend, Indiana on January 17, 1981 and her paternity was established July 15, 1981. At the time of her birth, her biological mother (the mother), and her biological father (the father), were unmarried and 17 and 25 years old, respectively.
