Defendant Steven Lowery appeals the order requiring him to enroll in satellite-based monitoring ("SBM") for the remainder of his natural life. On appeal, defendant contends that: (1) the trial court lacked jurisdiction to order SBM because defendant had already given notice of appeal from the underlying criminal conviction; (2) the trial court lacked subject matter jurisdiction to order SBM because the State failed to comply with the notice provisions of N.C.
