DICKSON, Justice.

Eleven months after his 2001 convictions and fifteen-year sentence for six counts of theft, the defendant filed a motion to correct sentence alleging that the trial court failed to grant him credit time in addition to actual time served. 1 In its denial of the motion, the trial court "suggest[ed] the defendant consult with the [Department of Correction] concerning their assignment of credit time."
