On December 18, 1997, pursuant to the Rhode Island Supreme Court's directive, a hearing was held to consider the defendant Sean E. Milette's motion to suppress a handgun which was seized from a vehicle that he was driving. State v. Milette, ____ A.2d ____, No. 96-357-C.A. (R.I. November 7, 1997).
