Marlene Gates appeals from a summary judgment entered by the District Court, Gallatin County, in favor of Life of Montana Insurance Co., on her claims for relief arising from the termination of her employment.

*180Gates commenced employment as a cashier with defendant on July 29,1976, under an oral contract of indefinite duration. On October 19, 1979, Gates was called in to meet with her supervisor, Roger Syverson, and without prior warning she was given the option of resigning or being fired.
