OPINION AND ORDER

LEISURE, District Judge.

On September 28, 1992, a Grand Jury filed the ninth superseding indictment (the “indictment”) against the defendants in this case. The indictment alleges that the defendants participated in the illegal activities of an international criminal organization known as “the Mafia” or “La Cosa Nostra,” which allegedly includes groups in both the United States and Sicily.
